Abstract
The December jobs report highlights the U.S. economies slow economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

The economy lost 140,000 jobs in December, the greatest single month decrease since April 2020. Given the industries most impacted by closures and health concerns, Latinos continue to face an unemployment rate twice the pre-pandemic level at 9.3% at the end of 2020.
