Abstract
Florida has the third largest Latino student population and third largest English Learner population in the United States. More than 60% of Florida’s students are considered “economically disadvantaged.” Additionally, Florida is experiencing a shortage of educators certified to teach ELs. This fact sheet outlines some of the issues affecting Latino students in Florida.
