The True Costs of Home Care: The Impact on Working Latino Caregivers

Abstract

Our report was written to provide a rich understanding of the costs of care for Latino households, looking beyond purely financial costs. In this report, the costs of care are understood to include financial effects—e.g., the impact on savings and current expenses—but they also include nonfinancial costs, such as the effect of caregiving on career opportunities (e.g., job choice) and, importantly, psychic and quality of life effects (e.g., stress and time constraints).
